Caring for pets who are suddenly and seriously ill is a core competence of our veterinarians. We are fully equipped to help your pet in times of need and illnesses that require longer hospitalization. With comprehensive imaging and laboratory equipment, our diagnostics are fast and your pet will receive the care they need in safe, knowledgeable hands.
Sacrum is also happy to accept referral patients who require intensive care and monitoring in hospital conditions.
Sacrum employs a number of veterinarians who are experienced in orthopaedics, ready to treat various musculoskeletal injuries and protect your pet's ability to exercise in chronic musculoskeletal disorders. Our orthopaedic services include in-depth lameness examinations and diagnostic imaging, formal bone scans and knee examinations, and from autumn 2025 joint scans and, broadly, bone and joint surgery.
Orthopedic examination also includes a basic neurological examination. If it is a back disease or other neurological condition, we will refer you for further examinations to veterinarians specializing in neurology if necessary.
In our highly equipped operating rooms, Sacrum surgeons are able to perform a wide range of soft surgery, including endoscopic surgery. We use anaesthesia and pain management methods in accordance with the latest research data to ensure safe surgical treatment. Our veterinarian, who is specialized in anesthesiology, designs and supervises anaesthesia in which the patient is at increased risk of complications, for example due to poor health, age or underlying disease.
Our dental department has iron expertise. We offer all the preventative and acute dental services your pet needs: tartar removals, whole-mouth x-rays, even requiring tooth extractions and other oral surgical procedures. Our dentists also perform coatings and other procedures that require special skills with solid experience.
Internal diseases cover a wide range of diseases of internal organs and metabolism that can affect pets of all ages. Symptoms often begin as if by stealth, but can eventually significantly affect the vital functions and well-being of the pet. At Sacrum, we treat disorders of the digestive system, liver, urinary tract, respiratory tract, reproductive system and endocrine system, among others, with accurate diagnostics and an individual treatment plan. In addition, your pet will receive help for acute and chronic skin and ear diseases.
Itching, rashes, hair loss, skin and ear infections, and other skin and ear problems in pets can be caused by many underlying factors, such as atopy, food allergies, parasitic infections, or endocrine diseases. At the clinic of our dermatology-trained veterinarian, your pet will receive help for all types of acute and chronic skin and ear diseases.The goal is to find out the root cause of the symptoms and develop an individualized, effective treatment plan to support your pet's skin health.
We treat basic diseases of rabbits, rodents and ferrets and preventive healthcare by appointment. In addition, we treat acutely ill rabbits, rodents and ferrets, and also perform basic surgery. At this time we are unable to provide dental treatments or chronic disease treatment for rabbits rodents or ferrets.
Heart disease is common in pets, and early identification of them is key to extending lifespan. At Sacrum, we provide comprehensive cardiological diagnostics and treatment for pets suffering from heart disease.
Anesthesiology and Pain Management
We invest in putting pets to sleep safely. Age or underlying disease is not an obstacle to putting your pet to sleep for surgical procedures. At Sacrum, we have a veterinarian specialized in anesthesiology who designs and, if necessary, supervises the most challenging anaesthesia. In all surgical procedures, anesthesia is supervised by an experienced zookeeper. We have modern and comprehensive monitoring equipment, and the procedures are performed intubated, i.e. with a breathing tube. Each patient is monitored for oxidation, exhaled carbon dioxide levels, blood pressure, cardioelectric curve, body temperature, and other parameters if necessary.
Painlessness is the cornerstone of a good quality of life. We at Sacrum do everything we can to ensure that your pet can live a pain-free life. Pain can be treated both medically and with other supportive measures such as joint injections. If you suspect your pet has chronic pain, you can make an appointment at a pain clinic where your veterinarian will conduct an extensive pain examination and make a longer-term pain management plan.
